Cetaphil Baby Wash & Shampoo

Marcie uses this on days when she is not using the anti-dandruff shampoo Nizoral is an anti-dandruff shampoo. Since Cetaphil sunscreen works quite well for her, we decided to try out the shampoo as we have been looking for a gentle alternative. As the baby shampoo is fairly affordable, we gave it a try and was pleasantly surprised that it cleanses quite well without itchiness of the scalp at night. However, maybe twice a week, we would still have to use Nizoral to keep the itch under control.

I have also attended eczema support group meetings whereby other parents shared how their teens are still using baby shampoo. One mom was concerned that baby shampoo did not have enough ‘cleansing power’ but given that we wash our hair once or twice a day in hot Singapore, it is likely that baby shampoo cleanses sufficiently. Moreover, a gentle shampoo is appropriate given that we shower frequently in hot, humid weather.

MarcieMom’s take: I do like the feel of this shampoo and not much scratching after its use. (Sorry to say) We tried Aveeno baby wash and shampoo and it was difficult to get the lathering going on in the hair.
