As some of you know, Laura Verallo Rowell Bertotto and her mother, Dr. Vermén Verallo-Rowell of VMV Hypoallergenics had been a great help, answering my questions in the 13-part Sensitive Skin Product Series. Today, I finally had the chance to meet up with Laura and catch up.
Our conversation is of course private but like to share on a few skin intelligence I’ve gathered.
1. It’s possible to be sensitized and be allergic to a certain ingredient and if you suspect your rashes are an allergic reaction to products used, stop all products for 7 days and best take a patch test.
2. Indoor lighting can also be harmful to the skin – Dr Vermén Verallo-Rowell studied the impact of indoor light on skin pigmentation and developed the Armada series that offers protection against the full spectrum of skin-harming light: indoor and outdoor UVA, UVB, Infrared and Visible Light.
3. Coconut oil can be a cleanser, but once a week, a ‘deep cleanser’ is still needed to clear out the dust. Read more on coconut oil here.
