Dr Donald J Davidson MBChB PhD is the MRC Senior Research Fellow and University of Edinburgh Senior Lecturer. The Davidson Group within the MRC Centre for Inflammation Research focuses on understanding the physiological importance of cationic host defence peptides (CHDP) to host defences against bacterial and viral infections. Dr Davidson is a medical graduate of the University of Edinburgh who chose to pursue a scientific research career. He completed a PhD at the MRC Human Genetics Unit, studying the pathogenesis of cystic fibrosis lung disease, then was awarded a Wellcome Trust Travelling Research Fellowship to undertake post-doctoral training in innate immunity research at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver. Dr Steve Xu MD MSc, who is currently a 2nd year dermatology resident at McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University. He earned his MD from Harvard as a Soros Fellow, and a Masters in Health Policy and Finance from The London School of Economics as a Marshall Scholar. He completed a BS in bioengineering at Rice University. For his academic interests, Steve is focused on consumer education and the intersection between health policy and clinical medicine. His publications have appeared in The New England Journal of Medicine, and PLOS Medicine garnering broad press attention from sources such as CNN, The Washington Post, and The Los Angeles Times. American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) – AAD is the largest and most influential dermatology group in the US and active in skin education and awareness through social media. Dr Lawrence F. Eichenfield, M.D., who is the Chief of Pediatric and Adolescent Dermatology of Rady’s Pediatric Eczema Center, and Professor of Pediatrics and Medicine (Dermatology), at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) School of Medicine. Dr. Eichenfield’s clinical interests include atopic dermatitis, and serves on the editorial boards of several journals and periodicals, and is Co-Editor in Chief of Pediatric Dermatology. Dr. Daniela Kroshinsky M.D., MPH, who is an Associate Professor of dermatology at Harvard Medical School in Boston and the director of pediatric dermatology and director of inpatient dermatology, education, and research at Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr Thomas Rohrer, dermatologic surgeon at SkinCare Physicians, and previously served as the Chief of Dermatologic Surgery at Boston University Medical Center and Boston Veterans Administration Hospital for eight years and as the Director of the Boston University Center for Cosmetic and Laser Surgery. Dr Rohrer is passionate about education and is the editor of six cosmetic and laser surgery textbooks and guest editor of numerous journals. Elisabeth Briand – Dr. Elisabeth Briand, R&D manager at Skintifique, holds an Engineering Master’s degree in food industry and a PhD in chemistry.She had 10 years experience in academic research as a physico-chemist, in France at Paris VI and Paris XI faculty of Pharmacy and in Sweden, at Chalmers University of Technology. Anna Jacob – Anna Jacob is the Director of Nutrition from Abbott. She oversees medical affairs in Singapore, Cambodia and Myanmar. Prior to joining Abbott, she was a founding partner and Director of Food and Nutrition Specialists P L, a nutrition consultancy firm set up in Singapore since 1989. Through this period, she also served as the Associate Director, Scientific Programs for the International Life Sciences Institute Southeast Asia Region (ILSI SEAR).
Anna is a co-author of FirstFoods, SmartFoods for Tweens, Fit Not Fat and The Essential Guide for First-time Asian Mums and Dads, published by Marshall Cavendish International (Asia) Pte Ltd. Anna graduated from Women’s Christian College, Madras University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics and a Master of Science Degree in Food Service Management and Dietetics. Anna is a member of the Singapore Nutrition and Dietetics Association (SNDA) since 1985. She has served as President (2 terms) as well as Editor of the Journal of the SNDA. Dr Chu Hui Ping – Dr Chu Hui Ping MBBS (S’pore), MRCPCH (UK) is a pediatrician at Raffles Children’s Centre, awarded the MOH HMDP award in 2010 and did her subspecialty training in paediatric gastroenterology and nutrition in Great Ormond Street Hospital and paediatric hepatology in Kings’ College Hospital in London. She also completed her Diploma in Dermatology with the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine in 2011.
Prior to joining Raffles Hospital, Dr Chu had been practicing at KKH as a Consultant in Paediatric Medicine as well as a Specialist in Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition service. She manages general ambulatory paediatric conditions including childhood vaccinations, developmental assessment, and common paediatric illnesses.
Dr Chu’s main areas of interests are recurrent abdominal pain, constipation, gastro-oesophageal reflux disease, food allergies, inflammatory bowel disease and feeding issues. She is also experienced in performing oesophago-gastro-duodenoscopy (OGD), colonoscopy as well as 24 hour pH and impedance studies in children. Dr Cheryl Lee Eberting, M.D. – Cheryl Lee Eberting, M.D. is a Board Certified Dermatologist and a past clinical research fellow of the National Institutes of Health. She is a member of the American Contact Dermatitis Society and and has a deep interest in chemical allergies, toxicities, and the role of the skin barrier in atopic dermatitis. She has recently published regarding skin barrier repair in atopic dermatitis, irritant and allergic contact dermatitis. Dr Clay Cockerell – Dr. Clay Cockerell is the clinical professor of dermatology and pathology and the director of the Division of Dermatopatholgy at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. He was the president of the American Academy of Dermatology in 2005 and a board-certified dermatologist and dermatopathologist in U.S. He also co-founded TopMD Skin Care, the company behind CLn® BodyWash. TCM Physician Lau Kiew Teck – Physician Lau Kiew Teck of Raffles Medical Group, Raffles Chinese Medicine Clinic, graduated from Singapore College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1977 and has been practising TCM since. Physician Liu’s special interests include treating skin problems such as eczema and psoriasis. In pediatrics, he specializes in treating asthmatic conditions. Dr Jeff Benabio – Dr. Jeff is board certified in dermatology and is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. Dr Lynn Chiam – Dr Lynn Chiam of Children & Adult Skin Hair Laser Clinic is a consultant dermatologist who subspecializes in paediatric skin conditions at Mount Elizabeth Novena Specialist Medical Centre, Singapore. She was formerly the head of paediatric dermatology at National Skin Centre, Singapore before leaving for private practice. She has vast experience in childhood atopic dermatitis and childhood birthmarks. Apart from paediatric dermatology, her other subspecialty interests include adult pigmentary conditions and laser dermatology. Dr Liew Woei Kang – Dr Liew Woei Kang, Paediatrician with special interest in Allergy, Immunology & Rheumatology, practices at the SBCC Baby & Child Clinic and is also a visiting consultant to KK Hospital. He is also the President of Singapore’s Asthma & Allergy Association which is currently administering the very first eczema fund (initiated by MarcieMom’s donation) for low income patients in Singapore.
